Dangerous Waters, Dangerous People
This will be pretty explicitly a Reconciling Ministries sermon. Joseph is rejected by his brothers because he is different. And different is scary. So his brothers sell him into slavery. The Disciples on the boat are fearful of the waters surrounding them, but Jesus walks fearlessly amid the storm and waves. We are not called to fear those that are different, or the imagined dangers of the world around us, but to step out of our comfort and safety to boldly follow Jesus.
Join us Sunday, August 9 at 10:00 live or watch the video any time after that. Read Genesis 37:1-4, 21-28 and Matthew 14:22-33 in preparation the sermon, “Dangerous Waters, Dangerous People.” The bulletin can be downloaded from our August 6 or 9 QuickNews on the “News” page of our website.
