Danna moved to Oregon from North Carolina by way of Boston in 1999. As an ordained deacon in the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference, she is appointed to the Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division where she currently focuses on strategic partnerships that help improve the health of all Oregonians. Public Health enables Danna to live out her call to ministry in a setting that reflects God’s call to social justice. She has experience in public health policy and systems change to support chronic disease, tobacco and obesity prevention. Prior to joining the Oregon Health Authority in 2009, she served in a rural public health department in Central Oregon. She has also lived throughout the Willamette Valley and served as the pastor of two churches in the Eugene-Springfield area. Danna has experienced her call to ministry as an ever-evolving creative process with the Holy Spirit that is evidence of how God meets us in each moment to build upon our history, gifts and growing edges. Danna first and foremost enjoys spending time with her two daughters, but also tries to find time to make home-cooked meals, travel to fun places with people she loves, and improve her very mediocre golf game.
