Children’s Ministries

Lake Oswego United Methodist Church is part of the Safe Sanctuaries Network, a United Methodist developed protocol for all ministries involving children and vulnerable adults that keep everyone safe. These protocols include:
  • Every class and event involving children, youth, and vulnerable adults requires 2 adults present at all times.
  • All staff and children working with children, youth and vulnerable adults must be background checked and go through Safe Sanctuaries training

Nursery

Nursery care is provided on Sunday mornings for both the 9am and 10:30 service.
Infants through Preschool age children are invited into the Nursery for a loving, fun, and safe environment.

LOUMC Kidz Sunday School

At Lake Oswego United Methodist Church we partner with parents, grandparents and all guardians of children in teaching, strengthening and empowering them in their faith journey from a progressive United Methodist perspective. Our staff and volunteers strive to create an environment that is safe, fun, and inclusive to all.

We offer Sunday School for Kindergarten through 5th Grade during the 9:00 Service. Children begin worship with their families and are dismissed to Sunday School after the Children’s Moment.

LOUMC Peacemaker’s Summer Camp is a place where everyone belongs!
This summer let the adventure begin as your child has fun learning and practicing the skills of being a peacemaker!

LOUMC Peacemaker’s Camp will offer a unique opportunity for campers to develop essential life skills that contribute to their growth as peacemakers. Through engaging activities such as play, discussion, creative arts, music, and community service, campers learn to express themselves, collaborate with others, and take care of the Earth. As they navigate these experiences, campers not only build confidence in their ability to affect positive change but also deepen their understanding of the intrinsic value of peace—within themselves, in their relationships with others, and in their role as caretakers of the Earth. This holistic development helps cultivate a generation that is equipped to lead with empathy, resilience, and a commitment to a harmonious future.
