A Discomforting Gospel
Sometimes we find comforting saints as companions for the spiritual journey – the people whose stories resonate with ours, who inspire us, and who we think “They’d be fun to meet!” And sometimes we encounter the prophetic saints of the Church, the ones who stand on the fringes of acceptable society. And they can make us uncomfortable. But that discomfort can sometimes dislodge us from our complacency and invite us into deeper relationship with God. Bayard Rustin and Marsha P. Johnson are those kinds of ancestors who move us to maybe see new perspectives.
Read Acts 10:44-4 and John 2:13-17 to prepare for Sunday’s sermon, “A Discomforting Gospel.”
The livestream will be available on March 8 at 9:00 or any time after. You can download the bulletin from the March 5 or March 8 QuickNews on the News page.
