Heidi Chang was born and raised in Springfield, Oregon. She graduated from Thurston High School in 2006 and went to George Fox University where she got her Bachelor’s of Art in history with a minor in political science in 2010.
After college she enlisted in the United States Army as a combat medic where she served overseas in Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. While in the Army she met her husband Josh and they have been married 12 years in October. They have three daughters, Freyja age 9, Thea age 5, and Isla, age 1. A
fter getting out of the Army, Heidi was a stay at home mom where she worked with her church’s women’s ministry and youth ministry. It was while serving in these ministries that she felt led to vocational ministry. In fall of 2020 she began seminary and in August of 2023 she graduated from Western Seminary with a Master’s in Divinity.
Heidi has over seven years of experience working with youth and is passionate about student ministry and working with youth in discovering who God is and who God has made each individual student be as a unique masterpiece designed and cared for by their Creator. Heidi enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, reading, writing, theatre, and coffee.
