Music Ministries

The Praise Band

Our Praise Band leads the music for our informal worship service, as well as many of our blended services during the summer. Several members of the band perform with other groups and have written music for worship and/or for their own bands.

They play upbeat and modern music for an uplifting morning of worship.

The Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir has been providing soloists and small choral groups to lead the music for our traditional worship services as we navigate the pandemic. They sing a wide range of music. Full choir will resume when large group singing is deemed safe.

Director Chris Rust is an educator as well as a director, making Wednesday rehearsals a fun learning experience. Chris knows that people are busy and is flexible when it comes to family and work obligations. With his leadership and the talent of individual members, the choir doesn’t miss a beat.

New members are always welcome. No auditions are needed, however the ability to read music is a benefit.

The LOUMC Handbell Choir

We have an adult five-octave handbell choir: Bells rehearse from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. on Mondays. The handbell choir generally plays monthly for the traditional worship service. Our ringers have a long history of producing great music and close friendships, and members retire only because they can no longer see the music.

Concerts and Guest Artists

Throughout the year we have the opportunity to enjoy concerts by our music ministries team as well as special visiting guest artists in concert and during worship. Watch our calendar and/or Facebook page for special events such as our Concert in December.

Our Organ

The result of a very generous gift from one of our members, we celebrated the installation of a new, custom Rodgers Infinity 361 organ in our church sanctuary in June of 2017. Our new instrument is delighting and inspiring those who worship at our traditional service.

Rodgers Organs feature the most advanced in digital organ technology available today. Sampling organs from around the world, the tonal resources of the new Rodgers organ is simply outstanding. In addition to traditional pipe organ stops, the new sanctuary instrument also features a number of beautiful orchestral, band, and theater organ sounds as well. The organ features: 61 dedicated primary voices and a total of 376 additional sounds in the tonal palette; five divisions - Great, Choir, Swell, Pedal, and Solo; built in BlueTooth™ technology; mechanical draw knobs; special voicing for American, French, English; and German organs; velocity control for orchestral voices; 99 levels of memory; built in digital recording and playback; RSS room modeling; on board tonal finishing; and more.
