“Laughing at or Laughing with”
Laughter can be a connection between people. It can lower our defenses and build relationships. Laughter can signify delight and wonder and joy. But laughter can also be defensive. It can be derisive and it can be a weapon. It can bring distance rather than closeness. The Genesis story of Sarai’s laughter when God promises her a child might give us some interesting insight into what faithful laughter looks like.
Join us Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 for the livestream, or watch the recording any time after. Read Genesis 18:1-5, 21:1-7 and Matthew 9:35-10:1 to prepare for Sunday’s sermon, “Laughing at or Laughing with.”
The bulletin can be downloaded from our June 11 or 14 QuickNews on the “News page”.
