The Work of Our Hands
For many of us, Labor Day is a last summer hurrah, a day off work, and maybe a good sale at our favorite store. And we might think that a day honoring the laboring people of our country is not a religious holiday. In fact, it’s not. And yet, the Messiah we follow came from a working family, and probably was a tradesman himself. The Scriptures are filled with reminders that treating workers and laborers unfairly is sinful. And Scriptures are likewise filled with positive reminders that our labor can be a source of blessing for our neighbors. So, what will we make by the labor of our hands and our hearts?
