Pastor Michelle begins a new sermon series:  Social Media, Intimacy, and Healthy Relationships:What it Takes to Build Deep and Enduring Relationships Across Life. Whether you are looking to deepen, repair, form, choose better, enhance relationships, there will be something in this series for ALL of us! What does it take to build intimate, healthy deep and enduring relationships across life? Each teaching will be grounded in Biblical texts and the relationships we find there. We’ll also weave throughout, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, etc…) and how it enhances or undercuts intimacy in relationships.
Read Song of Solomon, Chapter 2: 1-17 and consider the questions below in preparation for Sunday’s sermon,  Understanding Love Languages: Building Intimacy in All Our Relationships.
Questions for Reflection:
1. How familiar are you with Song of Songs (Song of Solomon), its characters and the meaning of this series of poems? Consider its process of canonization (admission into our Christian Bible). Make an argument for or against its inclusion.
2. Describe the phenomenon of “falling in love.” Speak about the veracity of this popular catch phrase.
3. Name the “five love languages” according to Dr. Gary Chapman in his New York Times bestseller by the same title. What is your primary/secondary love language? The love languages of those closest to you?
4. What is a “love tank” and how often do you get yours filled? How do you intentionally work to “fill” that of others?
5. What kind of love is essential to your emotional and overall health (spousal, children, family, friends etc…) What does it mean to love as God loves?
