Join us at 7:00pm as we remember the last evening that Christ spent with his disciples.
The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, which means “commandment.” In John’s gospel, on the night before he was betrayed and arrested, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).
John’s gospel does not record the story of the Last Supper among the events of this night, but the other gospels do. We often keep this night by celebrating Holy Communion.
