Rev. Joyce Sluss

Joyce is a life-long United Methodist and is a member of the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference of the U.M.C. as an ordained Deacon. In addition to a master’s degree in Social Work she also has a master’s degree in Christian Education from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. In the past she has served congregations as an associate pastor with an emphasis on Christian Education, Missions and Small Groups. She has spent many years teaching confirmation classes and Bible studies along with other faith-formation classes. One of her greatest joys is to witness individual youth or adults come to a new idea in their own faith development. She believes that the easiest way to do that is within a group of other fellow Christians.

Joyce lives in Wilsonville with her husband Mike. They moved to Oregon in 2005 and arrived at Lake Oswego UMC in 2013. Together they have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Also together, they enjoy traveling and singing in the choir. Joyce is an avid sewer, reader and cook.
